Little house on the prairie
This didn’t start out as a flip house, but a few months after moving in we realized it wasn’t the right home for us. The previous owners had built the house themselves and it was incredibly unique. We knew the right buyers would appreciate the craftsmanship and the property itself, which was so unique. It really just needed a few touches and we were back on the market less than a year after moving in.

The kitchen cabinets were excellent, but they were dark mahogany. The counters were Formica and there was no backsplash or dishwasher. Overall, it felt closed in and outdated. We replaced a base cabinet with a dishwasher, had all of the cabinets painted, replaced the counters with honed granite, updated the lighting and put a simple island from Facebook Marketplace in the center.
They had built this incredible shed on the property, and instead of filling it with lawn equipment, we installed a ceiling fan, TV, mini fridge and bar cart and staged it as a studio office/man cave. The shed was hands-down our favorite space and a true “panty-drop” moment for prospective buyers!
Small changes for major impact
This huge walk-out basement was completely unfinished when we bought the house. We constructed a wall and added a bright barn door to conceal the storage and laundry areas, and installed porcelain tile flooring throughout. This bonus space was staged with a huge sectional sofa, big screen TV and an 8’ bar to showcase the possibilities.
The basement
With over an acre of land in the heart of town, this property was officially registered with the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We were confident discerning buyers would appreciate the privacy and beauty of this unique opportunity to own a piece of paradise.
